Project Overview:

"Parts of Me, Parts of You" represents my inaugural venture into the realm of solo artistry, presented as an innovative interactive poem. Initially unveiled at like @corazon.a.corazon and @nourishbotanica, this piece is a piece of my heart and explores concepts of healing, and the processing of trauma.

At the core of this experience is the use of Twine, an open-source tool for interactive storytelling. Twine allows for a non-linear narrative structure, enabling the audience to navigate through the poem in a way that is unique to each individual. This approach not only enhances the engagement factor but also has the potential to create a different experience for each viewer.

Complementing the textual elements are carefully curated audio clips. These clips range from ambient sounds to voice recordings, each chosen to intensify the emotional resonance of the narrative. The inclusion of audio elements aims to create a multi-sensory experience, drawing the audience deeper into the thematic essence of the piece.

The poem also incorporates interviews from bell hooks.

While "Parts of Me, Parts of You" is accessible on mobile devices, the experience is optimized for desktop use. This preference is due to the intricate nature of the interactive components and the desire to provide the audience with the fullest and most immersive experience possible.

I am immensely grateful for the guidance and support provided by @cry.stal.ize and @keenan.hadley during the creation of this piece. Their insights have been instrumental in shaping both the structure and the emotional depth of this work. Their mentorship has not only aided in the technical aspects but has also provided a source of constant encouragement and inspiration.

This project also owes a part of its inspiration to the influences of artists and thinkers like @sade, @mslaurynhill, and bell hooks, whose works have infused depth and meaning into the fabric of this interactive poem.
